How Does Sani-Rides Relate to S.T.E.A.M.?

Sani-Rides can offer a long-term, financially responsible solution. In Disney alone, theme park attendance dropped by over 10 million from 2019 to 2020, primarily because people are afraid of getting sick. If rides are disinfected, it offers an added layer of security for those who are hesitant. Employees get, on average, $14 an hour. Multiply that by the number of rides, nearly 365 days a year and costs add up.

WHAT ABOUT ATTENDANCE?

According to Disney Food Blog, theme park attendance numbers in 2020, compared to in 2019, have dropped by over 10 million visitors across the board. The diagram shown above, provided by Disney Food Blog, shows the drastic difference between 2019 and 2020.* The reasoning behind this was due to the decline in operating days, but also the fact that many guests cancelled their vacation due to the fear of getting sick.

With the re-openings of theme parks in 2021, park employees continue to deep clean various rides and shut each ride every two hours. Not only does this increase wait times, but now that there are more guests in each park, the spread of COVID-19 is more of a threat than ever.

*2021 attendance numbers have not been released, so my research is based on numbers from 2020.

WHAT ABOUT MONEY?

At Walt Disney World, ride employees are paid $14 an hour, and Six Flags ride operators are paid $10 an hour. These employees are responsible for cleaning down the rides and rollercoasters. This money and extra employees could easily be replaced with Sani-Rides, saving money for any theme park company.
